To encourage riding bikes to work, to school, to the gym, to the store, and to restaurants, I believe it would be a great idea for Erie to start a "Bike around Town Day" during the fall when school starts back up. With more and more vehicles on the road due to new neighborhoods popping up, this could greatly help with traffic congestion, as people would realize that riding bikes to work or school is feasible, and cheaper than driving a car everywhere. Additionally, with CO2 emissions on the rise everywhere, Erie should help do it's part in reducing emissions wherever we can, even if it's just biking instead of driving a couple of times a week.
